Government digital action by banning 43 apps including snack video
The Indian government took action by banning 43 apps on the Chinese economy. On Tuesday, the Union Government of India banned 43 mobile apps in India, mostly owned by China.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) issued an order prohibiting access to 43 mobile applications under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, for India's sovereignty and integrity, protecting India and its citizens.
The issue of banning these apps has come upon the LAC (Line of Actual Control) against the backdrop of growing tension with its neighboring country, which remains unresolved.
In June and September, the government took stern action against the Chinese app and started banning dozens of apps, including the most popular Tik-Tok, UC Browser, We Chat. In September India also ban the most popular gaming app name PUBG.
Among the apps that were banned in June, MEITY officials reported that these apps are stealing people's data in an unauthorized manner, and sending them to a server, which is located outside of India.
"(Alibaba) officials said," Alibaba Group's apps, including short video sharing app Snack Video, business card reader app, cam card, truck and driver aggregator Lalamov are some of the prominent ones that have been blocked at this time "(MEITY) officials said.
After TIk-Tok was banned in India, the snack video was growing rapidly and has gained millions of users in India. The snack video app is owned by Kuashi Technology, a Chinese-based software company founded by Su Hu and Cheng Yixiao, but now the government halted the development of snack video.
The government is targeting China financially by banning apps and this is the third time India is banning Chinese apps.
